French Breakfast Puffs (Grandma Boyer)

Ingredients

Batter:

  • ⅔ c Crisco
  • 1 c sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c milk
  • 3 c flour
  • 3 t baking powder
  • 1 t salt
  • ½ t nutmeg

Topping:

  • 2 T butter, melted
  • ½ c sugar
  • Ground cinnamon, to taste

Prep/Equipment

  • Medium bowl
  • Whisk
  • Muffin pan
  • Muffin paper

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°.
  2. Place all ingredients in medium bowl. Mix by hand.
  3. Bake in muffin tins for 20-25 minutes.
  4. Remove from pans. Dip immediately in butter, then in cinnamon sugar mixture.
